It is a lumaquela with other fragments of coralline algae and bivalves, equinoidermos etc. The main minerals are calcite, quartz and feldspar. Accessories are iron oxides.
The quarries are located in Montealegre del Castillo, in the province of Albacete and draws them large blocks of Tamanna.
